Either my maths has really gone downhill, or something has been eating my sunflowers. I KNOW there were at least 10 seedlings there a few days ago, and now there are 5. Hmmmmm. Can't find any holes in the rabbit proof fence around the garden - and besides, if we had rabbits there would be nothing left below knee height. It's all a mystery.......
...Later...
Well, I think we found the culprit. Somehow an echidna managed to get into the garden (and into Jerry's shed as well). Cute little critter - and quite fearless. We were able to follow it around the garden for quite a long time before we managed to help it out of the garden.
I hope that means the sunflowers are safe again!

Is that Jerry's hairy leg in the shot wearing sandals & socks???
Blimey, he leaves Cool Britania & suddenly cardies & slippers are just not enough...
that sandal & sock ensemble was modelled especially for the photoshoot.
well done for noticing, a prize is in the post.
But what prize do you get if you notice that the sock has been in J's possession since he was 20?
Aitch
That sock is one of the new urban post-modern avant-garde numbers currently bowling them over (unlike our cricketers) in the fashionable boutiques of Sydney.
I am however a bit worried that you seem so obsessed by my sock collection, can i suggest you get out a bit more.
Also please bear in mind that in Oztralia the Mullet is still seen as a fashionable haircut. Are they 20 years behind or twenty years in front? Fortunately having got a very full, vibrant and lustrous set of locks I still have the option of being able to choose whether to have a Mullet style sometime in the future. Alas in your case Aitch may i suggest digging out your old photos and reminiscing!

This thread is supposed to be about wildlife isn't it?
Now the contents of said sock probably do contain a multitude of fungal growths & parasites (crabs most probably). But let's have some more pics of REAL creepy crawlies (excluding Jerry - cheap shot but I couldn't resist..)
Otherwise I'll start to think all this bush tucker stuff is a fabrication, & funnel web spiders snakes & other multi-limbed insects are marketing ploys to keep the great washed in the northern hemisphere.
whats the difference between a blog and a website?
sorry to be so sad but we have only just got broadband here in ireland...!

Nice to hear from bogtrotter in this 'chatroom'. It's great to have another of the great washed in the northern hemisphere joining in - but I'm not sure if 'great washed' & 'bogtrotter' in the same sentance is an oxymoron!
Have any of the hosts of this website/blog/chatroom seen anymore interesting 'critters'?
Got to go now I've used up my daily quota of apostrophies!
