FINALLY after several days of construction (nothing LIKE the 8 hours the instruction book predicted) we have our greenhouse! It's 11 x 8 foot (2.59m by 3.89m), with double doors and 4 roof vents. It's made from twin-walled polycarbonate, and the frame is also polycarbonate, so no metal to absorb the cold.
At the moment I have some old tyres and a black bin full of water to act as temporary heat sinks while Jerry works on the plans for a solar powered heat sink. So I just have a few frost sensitive things in at the moment (strawberry, avocado, tomato).
For a pictorial tour of the construction and the insides of the greenhouse look at the photo gallery on our flikr site:

Hey that is sooo cool. I have a greenhouse with orchids in it. Yours is much nicer!
That Greenhouse looks so cosy esp with the mutiple floor insulations, almost good enough to sit in there on a cold Sunny day to enjoy a cuppa.
Phong,
I like to think of it as a greenhouse during the week and a conservatory at weekends...
and I've made sure that it is well insulated just in case Margo ever decides to kick me out.

Jerry, I'm well impressed with your DIY skills. Its more than a greenhouse its a landmark, a citadel to creation and student accomodation if push came to shove. We've got plenty of water spare in the Uk if you're interested.
Hawkman - it's not student accommodation - it's Jerry accommodation when he's been misbehaving!!
