It's getting fruity around here

We're just coming in to that time of year when we can walk into the garden and pick berries off the vine. Fantastic!

Redcurrants and grapes

Raspberries and brambleberries, and brambleberries on the vine

A good day to be inside with the books

Today it's cold (the mountain an hour away had snow!!) windy and rainy (love the rain!) so it was a good day to get on with the 'Library'. Jerry bought some simple pine shelving and put them together for me.

After a hearty lunch of butternut pumpkin, sweet potato and red lentil soup I spent a happy few hours stacking the shelves with novels - many of them have been in boxes since 2000 when I went to Europe. I'm looking forward to re-reading many of them.

It's not a glamorous library, but its comfy, and will be a great refuge on summer weekends when Jerry is watching the sport on tv!! Even better, there is still room for more books!!!!!!!!!

Surreal Morning

Now, I could have sworn I was in country Australia when I went to bed, but judging by this morning's visitor to the yard, and the cool damp misty morning we must have been transported to Austen's England overnight!!
