Redcurrants. Lots of them - and more need picking today. I've already made 12 jars of redcurrant an mint jelly and am working on a batch of redcurrant vinegar.
I have one redcurrant ... it had little fruit but they dropped off. I hope to do better next year. I would love the redcurrant jelly recipe too, please.
Rhonda I'm in north east victoria - although this year with all the rain it feels like SE QLD LOL
- here's a link to my redcurrant jelly recipe for those who asked http://margoandjerry.blogspot.com/2010/12/its-redcurrant-season-again.html. If you can't steam juice the redcurrants bung them in a pan with 400ml of water for every kilo and simmer until soft then drain overnight through muslin to get all the liquid. Don't squeeze the bag though or the jelly will go cloudy. then follow the recipe above
Greetings from Canada. I love red currants we do not get them for very long here. I am visiting from down to earth and am enjoying your blog. I love the pics of the kangaroos. I have made jars and jars of wild grape jelly this year so I loved to hear you were making red currant jelly.Bye for now.I will return.

What a great crop! I'd love to grow red currants. What state do you live in, Margo? Great job on jelly and vinegar.
